The Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Pat Ryder said on Thursday (October 5) that U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had a "fruitful" phone call with Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler to discuss the "regrettable incident" where U.S. had to shoot down an armed Turkish drone. This would be the first time Washington has brought down an aircraft of NATO ally Turkey.
