Had an interesting day in Walton, Ky at the NS Rathole and the Abner Gaines House.
After I sat through an almost hour-long traffic jam just to get to the tracks that are 55 miles from my house, I waited for close to 2 hours and decided to make a quick run to the gas station to use the restroom and get something to drink. No sooner than I get back to the tracks then a Northbound comes buzzing by and I barely got to the tracks to catch it. Sorry about the limited view, but that was the best I could do since the train was there in an instant.
Right after that I had to move my car so they could repaint the stripes in the parking lot, and the daily Southbound steel coil train goes rolling by and I only got half of it. Boy, this day is going really good! Lol
I finally got a decent train with a UP leader and a mid-train DPU headed South.
After that, I got the last train of the day, a short Northbound with an end of train DPU.
I have also included a couple short videos of the Abner Gaines House and a big black Walnut tree in the backyard that I suspect has been there as long as the house. Black Walnut trees grow very slowly, and I would love to know how old this one is!
Thanks for watching!
