Types of Rosehip Oil
The extraction method affects the quality of rosehip oil as it affects the number of vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids that remain in the oil.
For a higher quality product, look for a low-heat extraction process that is free of chemical solvents (like hexane).
Two methods that meet these criteria are cold pressing and supercritical extraction. Supercritical extraction consists of subjecting carbon dioxide to high pressure and low temperature so that it can dissolve the rosehip.

The whole fruit (seeds, pulp, and skin) can be used in this type of extraction.
This maximizes the number of beneficial nutrients in the oil.
Cold pressing is another method that extracts rosehip oil without heat.
