Showing how you can use an interior eye, an external shell, a tear line, eyelash planes, and a modeled Lacrimal Caruncle*. to make more realistic and detailed eyes. The shader is Xoliuls, for the eye lens, global opacity is set to 0, and it has only a normal map to help shade the lens portion, but no diffuse or spec.
*Lacrimal Caruncle - that little red bit in the inside corner of the eye.
