Nationalist members of the Russian parliament called on Friday (06/03) for Russian peacekeeping troops to be sent to Kosovo to end the violence between ruling Serbs and the majority ethnic Albanians.
The demand was made as the Duma (lower house of parliament) announced a special debate on the crisis in former Yugolslavia. Russia and Serbia, both ethnic Slav nations, have traditionally been strong allies.
