As the first baseman for the legendary Brooklyn Dodgers of the 1950's and as the manager of the 1969 World Champion Miracle Met' - Gil Hodges made baseball history.
This film is the story of his life, from his boyhood in Indiana to his glory days with the Dodgers, his managerial career with the Met's to his untimely and tragic death at the age of 47 in 1972. Filmed prior to Gil's well deserved entry into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
