Using the A Klappe for high A’s on Sibelius 2:
Like Beethoven 7th, Sibelius 2nd has many exposed entrances on high A (on C trumpet), ranging from pianissimo to fortissimo. Getting comfortable with the A key on a rotary C will make those entrances much easier. The key effectively makes the note a bigger target - increasing your accuracy, and decreasing the resistance, making it more comfortable to start. Once the note is started you can let go of the key if you wish, it helps only with the attack. So, if you have a series of high A’s, like in Beethoven 7, hold the key down…
