The advantages for lawyers and claimants are that the lawyers can pool their resources and make it economically feasible to pursue a large company with much more resources than any individual lawyer or claimant would have. That allows those plaintiff's lawyers to pursue that company and to prosecute the cases fairly for each of their mass tort claimants.
