This fledgling red-tailed hawk (about 3.5 months old, named 'Ten') caught a rat that may have been too heavy to carry and misjudged the height of this cyclone fence. She may have been trying to fly to the top of the fence or over it, but ended up getting one talon stuck, while the other talon gripped the rat. The rat's tail can be seen hanging down between the hawk's wing feathers. About three minutes after the video ended, the hawk freed itself and flew away to consume the rat.
