For a long time I had to build my own tie rod sleeves by welding nuts onto round bar tubing - while I never had an issue with it this. There is an easier and safer way of getting a custom tie rod or heim joint sleeves. Whether you're building a custom car, upgrading suspension or upgrading an old C10 you can run into issues when adapting different spindles, upgrading to rack and pinion steering or swapping to more modern parts. It's especially hard to find a solution when you mix metric and standard parts. CPP, QA1 and a few others offer only a few specific options in a few sizes. Here's the simple fix - call DCA RaceFab, they are super good guys over there and can easily make whatever length, thread pitch and material choice you need. For this project I choose standard steel DOM tubing and asked them to add wrench points for ease of adjustments. They made them to order in less than a day and where at my front door soon after. So if you need a fabricated set of toe adjusters for you rig - this is where you need to go!
