ROUND STEAK WITH MUSHROOMS
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs round steak
Salt & pepper
2 tbs olive oil
8oz mushrooms sliced
1 small onion
1 tbs butt
2 1/4 cup beef broth
1/2 tsp thyme
1 tbd Worcestershire sauce
2 tbs cornstarch
RECIPE:
Preheat oven to 300°
Use textured side of meat mallet to pound meat to 1/2” thickness, salt & pepper
Heat 1 tbs olive oil in deep skillet over medium heat. Brown meat on each side, add additional olive oil if necessary, remove meat from pan and set aside
Add mushrooms, onion, and 1 tbs butter. Cook until tender, about 4-5 minutes
Add meat back to pan. Combine the remaining ingredients except cornstarch, and pour over meat.
Cover and bake for 2 1/2 - 3 hours
Remove meat from liquid and set aside. Whisk cornstarch and 2 tbs water until smooth,
Bring cooking liquid to a boil and add cornstarch mix a little bit at a time to desired consistency
Add all to serving dish
