I. HOW THE GROUP USES THE WIERSBE BIBLE STUDY GUIDE ON JEREMIAH
The Warren Wiersbe Bible Study Guides divide the book up into five sections.
-Getting Started: These two questions help the reader get engaged with the text and make some basic "observations" about what he or she sees in the passage.
-Going Deeper: These eight questions help the reader start to "interpret" what is being said through the commentary excerpts as well as other relevant passages in the Bible.
-Looking Inward: These two questions guide the reader to start to relate to what he or she has studied. It's laying a foundation for application.
-Going Foward: These two questions have the reader put on paper a few applications that he or she wants to make based on the study.
-Seeking Help: This last section encourages the reader to write down a prayer asking for the Holy Spirit to empower him or her to apply what has been learned.
II. HOW TO FORMAT A SMALL GROUP MEETING
-Unifying Question: At the beginning of the group start by asking everyone, "What did you learn or find interesting from the sermon last weekend?" This encourages everyone in your small group to actively be attending church.
-Read the Passage: If you know of someone in your group that is a good reader, ask him or her to read the passage assigned for that week aloud for everyone to hear.
-Walk Thru the Lesson: Lastly, walk the group through the questions. Keep them moving, keep track of time, and help them stay on topic. Your job is to facilitate, not teach.
