In this video we will be demonstrating the features of the Flaming Coals DIY kits 3 and 4.

The rotisserie kits comes complete with a solid 1600mm long skewer and are great for cooking roasts, chickens, suckling pigs or lambs.

It comes with a motor rated to turn either 30kgs, 60kgs or 100kgs depending on which motor you choose. They are all 240v turn 5 revolutions per minute, have all metal gears, are fan cooled and all come with a 2 year warranty.

The DIY 3 and 4 spit roaster kits come with a solid stainless steel skewer with no join in the middle.

They also comes with a quick release pin to attach the skewer to the motor, 2 large prong, 1 back brace, 2 chicken prongs and a double ender chicken prongs. The DIY number 4 kit also comes with 2 leg brackets and a counter balance weight for cooking whole animals. It is also important to mention that the skewer is round rather than square so you’ll always be able to get replacement parts and accessories off the shelf rather than having to get parts custom made which can be expensive.

The only difference between the DIY 3 and the DIY 4 spit kits are the leg brackets and counter balance weight.

One of the most important features of cooking with a spit is the ability to adjust the height the skewer sits over the coals. As you can see, the DIY kits have a very simple height adjustment function which allows the meat to be adjusted whilst cooking. As part of the kits, 2 upright pillars are included as well as 2 skewer support brackets.

The upright pillars are designed to be bolted onto the side of a drum, barrel, BBQ or fire pit. The skewer support brackets slide along the upright pillar to adjust the height the skewer sits over the fire.

The Australian designers at Flaming Coals designed and tested this spit in Australia for use by Australians. The DIY kits are well priced and you would be hard pressed to find this kind of quality kit in its price range. With a 2 year warranty, you can’t go wrong.
