Wall Street tumbled on Thursday as coronavirus cases in the US increased again, deflating recent optimism for a quick economic recovery. The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank more than 1,800 points and the S&P 500 dropped 5.9%, its worst day in nearly three months. The Nasdaq Composite fell 5.3% from a record high set on Wednesday. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell had underlined Wednesday that the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic would be felt for some time even in a best-case scenario.
