Chiang Mai is a beautiful city in northern Thailand. To experience country side of thailand you must visit this place.
I visited Was Phra That Doi Suthep which is a temple 15kms from the main city. To reach there you can rent a bike or use the red taxi (songthaew). There are so many waterfalls, most important one is Doi Suthep Pui national park.
Every random spot near doi Suthep is worth a visit. We visited Hmong hill tribe village as a random spot because we couldn't find the way to Doi suthep pui national park.
Note : You need an international driving license to drive in Thailand. Otherwise there will be a fine of 500 THB. (But the good thing is after paying the fine you will be allowed to ride in the city for 3 days from the date mentioned in the fine document/receipt)
