How I was Inspired by Jimmy DiResta and Cleaned Up & Re-Finished this Awesome, Vintage Craftsman Tool Box (or Tool Chest)!

I found this Craftsman Tool Box on Craigslist near me a few weeks ago and really wanted to add a piece of history to my workshop.
The guy I bought this from mentioned that the chest was made during the 1930's-1940's based on the color scheme but it needed some work. Luckily the rust damage wasn't too bad and there weren't any big holes or dents- so it was mostly cosmetic work. There was some old gasket or other rubber material melted onto some parts so that took some heavy duty cleaning to remove.
I love the way this turned out! When I first bought it I thought about painting it completely different colors but I'm glad I stuck with the red and metallic gray. It's so cool to know that this toolbox served someone for a long time and can now be a useful part of my shop and hopefully be passed on to future generations!
I haven't done many projects like this before but I definitely want to do more of these soon!
