"It's by far my favorite looking, modified Mustang ever - that I ever seen. I looked at my old car and said to myself: I have to do it"
Combining his passions for mechanics and nature, Magnus Marthinsen lives a different and exciting life - thinking and living a little bit outside the box.
Magnus is that type of guy you meet with a stress level that is non- existing. His laid back approach to life and his calm and stoic humbleness will make you wanna stop what you are doing and just catch a breath of fresh forest air. It's almost like he has a healing effect on you.. He is a different type of car guy that combines all his passions to live the type of life that he wants.
Magnus did by accident stumble over a video of a 66" Mustang Coupe on the internet back in 2014. An autocross car built by the autocross legend; Mike Maier.
Little did he know that it would become to have such an effect on his life.
All Magnus knew was that he wanted a car like Mike's Ol'Blue. A car Mike had built and given to his wife, Brianne Maier.
With limited resources and some "countryside knowledge", Magnus used his creativity to make an outstanding recreation of Mike and Brianne's car.
“I made everything look as close as possible…I copied the chassis, found the exact wheels and tires. The cold air intake is handmade, even the hood pins are the same.“ There are some things that are different from the original. It was impossible to find a NASCAR engine here in Norway, so I had to use my old 289 engine, but I spiced it up a little."
"I am no race car driver, I've never driven on any tracks or circuits. For me the joy with this car is to pack a light backpack - throw it i the trunk together with my axe, my coffee kettle and a knife."
Magnus being a experienced woodsman - been taught by famous survival experts such as Ray Mears and Lars Monsen. He usually spends his time out in the beautiful nature in Eastern Norway studying edible plants and watching wildlife. Although when he is not gone hiking with his wolf-dog, he can be found geeking out in his workshop over how to get his Mustang to grip even better onto these twisted back roads.
All in all a fantastic car that looks like a beast and sound absolutely fantastic roaring through the forest roads, but it also have deeper meaning that touches hearts. His car have become a symbol of raising the awareness around child abuse, especially regarding helping young women to heal from sexual abuse. That led him to start a charity fundraiser, called The Woodsman Foundation.
"It's more than a car, it's an form of art."
Magnus often takes brings his camera along while doing his favorite stuff. We say thank you for sharing all the great footage with Skunkworks Produksjoner.

The girl I encountered is strong and healing well. She didn’t crumble apart due to shame and guilt.
I think nature, wild flowers and some good old horsepower, helped her to be a fighter, a survivor. But still some chains and shackles to break to fully recover.
Build your dreams.
Anything is possible.
