This Christmas Season I started playing some pieces composed by Matthias Sigismund Biechteler (1668 - 1743; later name also "von Greiffenthal"). Biechteler started his carrier as valet and musician in 1687 in Salzburg. In 1706 he became court music director in Salzburg. It was Biechteler, who introduced Leopold Mozart to the Salzburg court music.
From all his compositions, solo lute music is less known to the audience. This Allemande is the first piece from a suite in g minor for baroque lute composed by Biechteler.
