The DeKalb County Police Department welcomed 19 new officers onto the force Friday.
Members of the 107th academy class received their badges and took the oath of office this morning.
The ceremony took place at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center in Decatur.
The new officers completed 26 weeks of intensive training at the police academy, before they qualified for graduation.
They will now have to complete an additional eight to 12 weeks of training in the field.
