I LOVED working as an actuary, but sometimes it was hard to see how the work I was doing fit into the bigger picture. Especially how it impacts the real world.

COMPENSATION: 4/5

Actuaries are definitely compensated well.

But in order to make the BIG bucks, you've got to climb the corporate ladder and get into high-level management!

So in order to do that, you'll need to put in a LOT of time studying, as well as have tons of experience.

CAREER GROWTH: 5/5

With the skills and background actuaries have, it's pretty much guaranteed that they'll have SO many opportunities to move up in the field!
