Incorporating both studio and subsequent live recordings by Pink Floyd, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and several other renowned artists over the last 45 years; this unique, enhanced and re-imagined recording has been made with careful respect to what many consider the ultimate progressive rock concept album of all time.

With over 30 million copies sold, it is the second best-selling album in the band's catalogue (behind 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon), the best selling double-album of all time, and one of the best-selling albums of all time overall. Some of the outtakes from the recording sessions were used on the group's next album, The Final Cut (1983) and Roger's solo album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. With great success, some of those recordings have been incorporated within this new version.
