Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world. Located in West Africa, Nigeria is home to over 250 ethnic groups, comprises of 36 states and one Federal Capital Territory. The country shares land borders with the Republic of Benin to the west, Chad and Cameroon to the east, and Niger to the north. Its coast lies on the Gulf of Guinea, a part of the Atlantic Ocean, to the south.
The capital city is Abuja.
