TODAY’S REFLECTION
Elijah and Elisha were two great prophets called by God in ancient Israel. The First Reading intones the praises of these two aforementioned prophets who were faithful to God and relied strongly on divine providence for meeting their needs. Elijah was fed by a raven and Elisha was fed by the widow of Zarephath as consequence of their humble submission to the will of God. In the gospel, Jesus taught his disciples the model of a perfect prayer to be made to God in the “Our Father”. In prayer, we ought to acknowledge the supremacy of God and worship him. We should see God’s mercy and be ready to be merciful to others. We should trust in divine providence believing always the sufficiency of God’s love.
