In this video, we will take a look at an antique mid to late Edo period bronze mirror which I picked up several years ago from an antique dealer. The mirror came with a letter and a box.

The Matsuyama mirror is an old folk tale that takes place in a time before mirrors became common in Japan. There are a few versions but its a cute story.

The mirror still reflects well, and it still produces an image, but Im afraid the tarnish has affected the quality of the image. Id like to have it polished but then again keeping it as it is isnt so bad either.
