Butchering animals is not for the (emotionally) weak..so do not watch this video if you are sensitive to butcher content or if you are vegan. I want to help anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious, tender and charred octopus tentacle. I do NOT want to trigger anyone who will be upset by this. Drink every time I say ~literally~. BOILING / MARINATING INFO BELOW!
BOILING TIME: 15-20 minutes per LB. Check to see if it's fork tender and that will indicate when it's ready. If the meat feels rubbery/ bouncy and resistant to the fork, it's not ready. My octopus took 40 minutes to boil.
MARINATING TIME: at least 20 minutes, or over night!
MARINADE RECIPE:
Olive oil (however much to coat the octopus)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Black pepper to taste
Zest of 1 lemon
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
Za'atar to taste
