Here's a rare recording of Jaco soloing extensively on Wayne Shorter's "Nefertiti" from a gig he held with his group at Seventh Avenue South in NYC. on July 15th in 1984. The complete recording lasts for over 20 minutes, but since Jaco seemed to be in sort of a "sabotage mood" for most of the performance I chose to edit out large chunks of it. The 5 minute ending section posted here is unfortunately the only part of the 21 minute performance where he keeps it fairly together, and even here there are some "weird" spots. I still think it's listenable though. After all, it's not often we get to hear Jaco solo over a tune like this, and it does have historical value. EDIT: I have now posted the entire performance.
