Gigue for Genny is an English Country Dance devised by Dan Herr in 1975. It is a proper 3 couple longways dance.
(The word "gigue" is an old spelling of "jig")
The tune, Greenholm, was composed by Dan Herr and published with the dance. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "By Request". It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc. [ Ссылка ]
The animation plays at 111 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the figures more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color will change each time through the minor set.
