"Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition, released in 2019 and developed by Forgotten Empires, is a remaster of the classic RTS from 1999. It enhances the basegame in every conceivable way. The new graphics look fantastic, and are true to the original. The same could be said about the soundtrack, the sound effects, and the UI. Animations of units are way more fluid now, and the new building destruction animations look spectacular. Of course the game still contains all the features you would expect from a game of this genre. Namely a campaign, skirmish, tutorial and multiplayer mode and a map editor. They even added 2 player co-op campaigns, and a new mode called "the art of war", which teaches you advanced build orders and strategies for ladder games. Blizzard take note: this is how you remaster a much-loved RTS."
