Saturday night was all right for a fightback as Belgium marmalised Romania to come back from their shock opening defeat leaving Group E all square on matchday 2, earning their first three points of Euro 2024 and ensuring they did not lose their opening two matches in a major tournament for the second time in their history.
While they were the better side through the 90 minutes, The men in red struggled to put the game out of sight from their opponents and a second-half resurgence from Romania threatened to draw the game level on multiple occasions. Stay Tuned..
Barely into the 2nd minute, Belgium got off to the perfect start as the Aston Villa Midfielder, Youri Tielemans broke the deadlock with a Torpedo at the 73rd second, the third fastest goal in European Championship history.
It started with Youri winning the ball back from the Romanian side then immediately squaring it up to Romelu Lukaku who drove deep into Romanian territory before finding Jeremy Doku.
Doku in turn dinked across the edge of the box before setting up Lukaku again on the penalty spot.
