As the Sun reaches zero degrees of Cancer we experience the Solstice, a moment where the Sun “stands still” giving those in the Northern Hemisphere the longest day of the year, and those in the Southern Hemisphere the shortest day of the year.
In 2020, the June Solstice falls on the 20th and also brings a potent Solar Eclipse, adding to the magical and electric energy of this already special day.
As the Sun reaches this special marker in the cosmic skies, the ancients believed that the veil between this world and the next grew thinner. They also believed that the spirits of nature were more active and more willing to make themselves known.
The Solstice is always a wonderful time to connect and tune in to our intuition and to the beauty of nature all around us.
In the Northern Hemisphere, where we are experiencing the longest day of the year and the official start of Summer, it is a time to celebrate the abundance of nature, and all that is on offer to us.
Under the light of the radiant Sun, we are called to express ourselves in an outward fashion and to receive the incredible offerings being sent our way by the Universe.
The Summer Solstice is considered a time where the Sun is at its strongest and most powerful. It is a time where we can really harness its energy and use it to revitalize our body, mind, and soul.
In the Southern Hemisphere, where we are experiencing the shortest day of the year and the official start of Winter, it is a time to honor the stillness of nature and the pause it is taking in order to recharge.
Under the longest night, we too are called to retreat within, to reflect on the journey that we have traveled, and to acknowledge how our past has led us to this moment.
The Winter Solstice is considered the rebirth of the Sun. While it may be at its weakest it is also at its most fertile, and in the darkness we can plant seeds for our hopes, dreams, and wishes.
No matter where in the world you live, if you tune your energy with that of Mother Earth, you will feel aligned with its rhythms and with the wisdom it has to offer you.
Nature is always sending us signs and clues, but on the Solstice there is more energy to support and guide us.
Happy Solstice!
