Contrary to popular belief, whether it's high fat or low fat, the difference doesn't seem to significantly affect most health outcomes. And before you reach for that low-fat yogurt or milk, there's a catch: the added sugars.
In Ep 266, Dr. Walter Willett asserts that many low-fat dairy products lining grocery store shelves are laden with high amounts of added sugar, making them a less healthy choice than we may think. And we wonder why some low-fat and skim milk come in chocolate or strawberry flavor. Flavorings are in there to compensate for the loss of taste when the fat is removed.
