My personal run of Dead Space 2 Hardcore Mode including some sneaky strategies to make the hardest parts easier.

Software used:
Widescreen Fix (to change the field of view of the game)

Weapon Loadout Used:
1. Refurbished Plasma Cutter (strategic dismemberment and for some boss fights).
2. EarthGov Seeker Rifle (high damage weapon for tough enemies and for safer approaches).
3. Bloody Force Gun (mostly effective against everything).
4. Heavy-Duty Contact Beam (mostly for selling ammo and for some mini-bosses, also a crucial weapon for the "final boss fight").

Suit Used:
1. Forged Engineering Suit (15% extra health when health pack is used).
2. Vintage Suit (apart from 20% armor and 20 slots, the 10% discount on all items from Store).
3. Advanced Suit (25% armor, 25 slots, the best looking suit from Dead Space series).

Tips for the run:
1. When you reach the first bench, put 3 nodes into your suit health.
2. Start upgrading both Plasma Cutter and Force Gun at the same time (some nodes here, some nodes there). It would be essential that by before reaching chapter 5 you'll have at least the fire upgrade for the Plasma Cutter.
3. Regarding the vacuum glasses, break them before entering the room or the section where you can be sucked. You'll save yourself of unwanted surprises.
4. Regarding save game spots I usually do one at Chapter 7 before the Solar Array elevator (either way if you have the Force Gun properly upgraded it will be a lot easier to get rid of the Tripods, oh and have a lot of Force Energy ammo just in case), one at Chapter 13 before the Marker Laser Room and the last one before the final boss.
5. If you wanna get the Hand Cannon you'll need to play it without taking breaks or closing the game. If not, you'll get the hardcore run bug where the progress won't count even if you finish it or load it from a previous save game. You'll need to redo the run.
6. As you might see I always do weapon combos to save up ammo. Like one shot of Force Gun to stun Leapers or Slashers then go back to Plasma Cutter and dismember them (as well to TK their blades and shoot it back at them). Use Contact Beam when the enemies you face are more tougher like Tripods for example.
7. Always save up Health Packs, you might never know when you might need them. Also Stasis Packs, especially for Chapter 8 when you're inside CEC facility.
