FEATURED LOCATION: Hawai'i Island offshore.
FEATURED SPECIES: Striped Marlin (Nairagi), Yellowfin Tuna (Shibi).
Part 1 of 2.
We are on board with our LGF Hall-Of-Famer charter boat captain Tim Hicks! It's another smooth boat ride just off shore outside of Kona aboard the Illusions!
The first strike comes early. Boat owner Al Sullivan has a spunky Striped Marlin on the line. When the tug of war is over the fish is tagged and released.
Later in the day we find floating debris which often attracts fish to congregate beneath. That was true today. The anglers found a school of juvenile Yellowfin Tuna (Shibi) ready and willing to come aboard.
So far we've enjoyed catch and release action plus we now have fresh fish to look forward to for dinner!
