“Waves of the Danube” (Romanian: “Valurile Dunării”) was written by Iosif Ivanovici in the year 1880. Written as a Waltz, the composition suggests the style of Johann Strauss and is played and sung by Romanian musicians of all ages.

I remember singing this tune as a child and also playing it in different instruments. The melodic and harmonic changes, along with the Viennese rhythm, make for a very memorable and pleasant song.

This is my own arrangement that I made a couple days ago while sitting for a warmup session with this lovely Kremona Rondo R65CWC guitar.
