Prince Harry 'hurt' at not being able to attend Trooping the Color - Michael Cole
Prince Harry will be "hurt" at not being able to attend this week's Trooping the Color celebrations, according to royal commentator Michael Cole.
The Duke of Sussex's royal relations remain fraught after a series of startling accusations he and his wife, Meghan Markle, made about the company.
The couple rarely set foot in the UK, and it looks like this will be no different for the main event this weekend.
Speaking on GB News, Cole said Harry would be "hurt" at not being able to attend due to his ties to the military.
"They won't be there, California's second team will stay away," he said.
“I'm sure it hurts him because he had his best days when he was in the Army, in the Air Force, and in the Cavalry.
“I'm sure if it hurts him that he doesn't have those connections because he values them so much.
“But in this life, isn’t it true that you make your bed and lie in it?”
Princess Kate, another member of the royal family, is not expected to attend the ceremony as she continues to recover from cancer.
Some have supported the princess's fleeting appearance on the balcony, which would be "a very good thing," according to Cole.
He said: “If she did, it would be very appropriate because she is a colonel in the Irish Guards.
“It's the 2nd Battalion Irish Guards deploying tomorrow.
“You may remember last year she wore a very eye-catching emerald outfit on the balcony, associated with the Emerald Isle of course.
"If she does, it will be very good in many ways. First, she won't have to say anything, and second, we will all feel reassured about her returning to the best health possible."
“Thirdly, all the stupid and vile rumors that have been spreading around the world about her current condition, I won’t even repeat them.
Giving them currency will only legitimize them in one way or another.
“If I was giving them PR advice, I would say that if it can be there, it should be because everyone wants to see it.”
