In a lot of ways Splatsville blows the previous 2 games' hubs out of the water, but there are still a couple things I could nitpick if I wanted (& then exaggerate for humor lol).
And when I say couple I literally mean 2; the only other complaint I can think of is that I have to exit the lobby to go to Recon mode, which is no longer just a button press away. It's cute that Nintendo likes to make its hub worlds feel more alive & atmospheric by having a quaint little guide lady out in the square, but why can't she?? just stand in the lobby?? Let her come in outta the sun, get some air conditioning lol
Once again practicing video editing, I'm always surprised at how much faster you can make vids when you don't have to draw every frame haha. I've often thought about making longer videos in this narrated style, so I guess this is kind of a test run!
As someone w/ no formal A/V training, it's very interesting to have to think about things like transitions & how much editing is too much. I have more experience making comics, which is a medium where you can afford to make things visually busy b/c readers can look at a panel for as long as they need to grasp everything before moving on. They handle the transitions themselves, with their eyeballs! Incredible!
