Sometime we have to learn the hard way. This is one of those times. I knew that Common Milkweed could be somewhat invasive, but since I had a limited number of places to plant it, I put some on one end of my garden. I can see now that that was a mistake. In this video, I will give you a look at just how Common Milkweed spreads underground. In sandy loam soil, plant with aggressive roots can really spread in a hurry.
I still plan to grow some milkweed for the Monarch Butterflies, but I'm going to be more careful about where I plant it.
