What are the partner visas and the subclasses?

They fall under the Family visa stream.

Applying for a partner visa if you are IN Australia

You will first apply for subclass 820:
- This is a temporary visa
- It leads to permanent visa 801
- You will need to be in Australia

This leads to

Subclass 801
- This is a permanent visa

Applying for a partner visa if you are OUTSIDE Australia

You will first apply for subclass 309
- This is a temporary visa
- Leads to permanent residency
- You must be outside when you apply for the visa and when it gets approved

This leads to

Subclass 100
- This is a permanent visa
