Coaches Tim Crowley and Al Lyman show how training on the Vasa Ergometer can minimize stress on the shoulders and help to prevent 'Swimmer's Shoulder'. By using a recovery stroke that does not come over the top, the shoulder can be protected. They review a shoulder pre-hab / rehab workout using the Vasa Erg, free weights and tubing, which will help to keep your shoulders strong and healthy.
The workout:
On Erg Bench with Dumbbells:
• "Ys" and "Ts"
• External rotations
• Prone press
On Erg Bench with cables:
• Crossover row
• Reverse fly
• External rotation
• Reverse freestyle stroke
With tubing / stretch band:
• 3-position external rotation
