Kochi: The Paravur Magitsrate Court on Monday rejected the bail application of Varappuzha SI GS Deepak, who was arrested by the investigation team probing the custodial death of Sreejith. The court observed that the case is very serious and hence bail cannot be granted to the accused. Police had filed the remand report in the court after slapping various charges including murder. The co-accused in the case had given statement that Deepak had assaulted Sreejith. In this scenario, the court took the stand that bail cannot be granted to Deepak. Deepak told the court that he does not have any connection with the case. He also told the court that Sreejith's statement says that he was assaulted by policemen in civil dress
