Simon's favorite red beaded damselfly pattern is great for lakes and this video gives you the fly tying instructions so you can tie your own damselflies. He uses this pattern to fish the edges of lakes very effectively and has caught many trout on it. Damselflies are a major source of food for trout in stillwater fisheries.
