MIAMI (June 02, 2016) — On Monday, June 13, 2016, at 11 a.m., Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Chairman Jean Monestime, District 12 Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, and Members of the Board of County Commissioners, the Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department and the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department will host the grand opening of the Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue, Doral, Florida.
Miami-Dade County’s new Pet Adoption and Protection Center is a major milestone in maintaining our goal to save the lives of homeless pets in our community. The design of the new facility was managed by the County’s Internal Services Department and is a model of best practices in animal housing, creating a comfortable environment for homeless pets, those who care for them and the people looking to adopt a pet. In this new facility we are able to further expand our spay/neuter services which is a critical step in maintaining our live release goal.
