Cheryl P. Johnson, CEO of the Coalition on Temporary Shelter, has helped countless families overcome homelessness through her strategy of identifying the root causes of homelessness and poverty. Now, she shares with us the revolutionary approach she and her colleagues have been using to reverse the trends of poverty in Detroit. Cheryl Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer of COTS (Coalition on Temporary Shelter) in Detroit, an organization dedicated to providing housing opportunities for homeless families, focusing on improving social mobility and offering long-lasting solutions to poverty. Cheryl has been working at COTS for 27 years, overseeing the most important decisions in the organization. Cheryl's approach to homelessness is unique in many ways, treating it as a symptom of the greater issue of poverty itself. By empowering impoverished people through the use of mobility coaching, Cheryl hopes to create a socially driven yet self-sufficient Detroit community. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
