Dozens of bodies in plastic bin bags lie strewn, unburied or partially covered by the hastily-dug up earth across a slit trench which local Ukrainian officials say is a mass grave of ‘executed’ civilians in Bucha, outside Kyiv.
Russia denied the allegations that it had killed civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha, describing footage and photographs of dead bodies as a ‘provocation’ and a ‘staged performance’ by Kyiv.
The discovery has prompted vows to prosecute Russia for war crimes at the International Criminal Court.
