A simple way to protect your axe by making a handle guard out of paracord. Stronger than Leather.
The Axe I'm wrapping is a Hults Bruk Akka Forester's Axe. It is a great axe and cost a pretty penny so I don't want it getting scuffed up so I always wrap it. No matter how careful you are and accurate your swings, wood is unpredictable and you are going to hit your axe handle sometimes. I also like that it gives me extra cordage in an emergency.
