The conflict in Ukraine has brought attention to the important role of artillery and munitions in shaping the war. Russia's artillery production surpasses that of the US and Europe, giving Moscow a significant edge in the conflict.
Russian artillery plays a crucial role in the conflict, as Russia produces approximately 250,000 artillery munitions each month, while the US and Europe together produce about 1.2 million annually for Ukraine. This production gap allows Russia to maintain a high firing rate, launching around 10,000 shells daily compared to Ukraine's 2,000. As a result, Russian artillery factories are working non-stop, with an increased workforce in the defense sector since the war began.
