Adequate anaesthesia for the scalp is necessary to make procedures of the scalp painless for the patient.
Regional Anaesthesia by blocking the chief nerves supplying the scalp help in acheiving the same.
Here I demonstrate the Nerve Blocks for the Supraorbital, Supratroclear and Auriculotemporal nerves, which provide anaesthesia to the scalp upto 3-4 cms ahead of the vertex area.
The vertex area can be anaesthetised by blocking the greater and lesser occipital nerves.
This is a detailed description of the procedure.
