Helena Rathbone and Timo-Veikko Valve perform Edward Elgar’s beloved work for violin and piano.
A few words from Helena: “This is one of my favourite pieces by one of my favourite composers. I feel the reality of distance between Sydney and England and family even more acutely in current times. This piece is so evocative for me. It conjures up images of the beautiful English countryside and stirs a sense of national identity and pride. It is a very romantic piece made particularly poignant as it was an engagement present from Edward Elgar to his beloved Caroline Alice, affectionately called ‘Carice’. I would like to thank Aiko for her lovely arrangement and Tipi for his beautiful playing.”
