As Subaru applies the Wilderness treatment to its SUVs (Forester and Outback currently have it, and the Crosstrek Wilderness coming soon and likely an Ascent Wilderness in the next two years), the Impreza faded from the limelight a little. That’s not to say the company is abandoning its compact hatchback.

In fact, the 2024 Subaru Impreza is all-new, and looking for its chance to get back into the spotlight. And, with strong competition in the hatchback market from Honda, Toyota and Mazda, the smallest Subaru needs all the light it can get to stand out.

Attributes such as Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and EyeSight Safety have made the Impreza a smart choice in the compact segment since the mid 2010s, and continue to remain in full force.
