The Saint-Aignan church is named after the Bishop of Orleans at 400 , when amounted already a pre-Romanesque church, later replaced by other buildings that suffered fire in xii th century and in 1262 . Saint-Aignan was the parish of the Counts of Blois and Chartres.

Nationalized during the Revolution , the church is generously converted into a military hospital . The Restoration makes it to worship in 1822 . In 1869 , interior painting, polychrome frescoes in the romantic style, was entrusted to a collaborator of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc , Émile Boeswillwald .
